Persian Mirror Hits the World Wide Web by Mark Dankof

Readers of SARTRE's Breaking All the Rules have already been exposed to such interesting Persian and Iranian sites as the Amir Abbas and Fereydoun Hoveyda site, the web offerings of human and political rights organization Marze Por Gohar, Farrokh Ashtiani's marvelous Persian Gardens presentation, the inveterate site for Iranian women called Iran Dokht, and the stellar English language news offerings of Iran Press Service.

Now to the mix of informative Persian and Iranian web sites comes Persian Mirror. It sports information on Persian weddings, culture, cuisine and community for the initiated and the uninitiated alike, along with the Web's largest Persian Business Directory of over 14,000 listings.

These sites are all worth regular visitation for American paleo-cons interested in Persian and Iranian culture, history, and political lore and can be accessed on Mark Dankof's America Link page at: www.MarkDankof.com/links.htm

Governments And The Central Banking System by Nadir Martello

Politicians always struggle for power and once they are in government they are tenacious in holding on to it. But those who put them there are those who really have the power and exercise it at will, because they own and control the financial resources. These people are commonly known as the bankers, the financiers, the powerbrokers, or if you like, the plutocrats.

Since 911, Federal Spending Under Bush Increases at Fastest Rate in 30 Years by The Independent (UK)

Since 9/11, Federal Spending Under Bush Increases at Fastest Rate in 30 Years

Since 2001, even with record low inflation, U.S. federal spending has increased by a massive 28.8% (19.7% in real dollars)with non-defense discretionary growth of 35.7% (25.3% in real dollars)the highest rate of federal government growth since the presidencies of Richard Nixon and Lyndon Johnson. This increase has resulted in the largest budget deficits in U.S. history, over $520 billion in fiscal year 2004 alone. Furthermore, the projected spending for 2005 is a conservative estimate, since it doesn’t include at least $50 billion for the ongoing cost of the Iraq occupation.

America will wake up to the deaths of their children in Iraq - Interview with John Pilger

I have never painted a cynical view of the world. I wrote a book called Heroes, which pays tribute to the struggles of ordinary people all over the world. You confuse the majority of people with those in power. Too often journalists believe being cynical about their readers and viewers ordains them as journalists. It doesn’t; they should redirect their scepticism to the powerful, instead of courting them; for it is they who are truly cynical.

They Hate us because we’re Free...

Margalit and Buruma promise to deliver a deeper insight into the hearts and minds of people varying from Hezbollah leader Nasrallah to al-Qaida’s Bin Laden, by illustrating their feeble theory with Chinese revolutionaries, Japanese imperialists, Nazis, romanticists and God. However, in their attempt to ground occidentalism historically, the authors end up shoving animosity towards the West under a make-shift rubric of pathological hatred. Consequently, Occidentalism is not just a disappointing academic exercise but also an all too useful political tool.

Michael Peroutka's Acceptance Speech as the Nominee of the Constitution Party for the Presidency of the United States

Michael Peroutka accepted the nomination of the Constitution Party for the Presidency of the United States in Valley Forge on June 25th. Aired on C-SPAN, his speech text is worth reading and pondering.

Throw the Bums Out by Gail Jarvis

"The Constitution Party evolved from a revolt against the liberal shift in the Republican Party. It was originally called the U.S. Taxpayers Party. The name gradually evolved into the Constitution Party as members of other third parties joined it. The media will try to make an issue out of the Constitution Party’s strong Christian values. Its platform preamble states: "that the foundation of our political position and moving principle of our political activity is our full submission and unshakable faith in our Savior and Redeemer, our Lord Jesus Christ." Although this statement would have been acceptable to the Founding Fathers, media pundits will claim that it excludes other religions and therefore is detrimental to multiculturalism. Certainly, Constitution Party leaders should make it clear that citizens of all faiths as well as non-believers are welcome as members.

"If we could persuade the Libertarian Party and the Constitution Party to negotiate their differences and merge into one party, we would have a force to be reckoned with. But we can’t really expect that to happen, because although they share many similar views, the positions they differ on do not appear negotiable, i.e., free trade and immigration. So we must choose one or the other, slap its bumper sticker on our car and make our support known to the community."

Revisionism is an historical discipline made necessary by the fact that all States are governed by a ruling class that is a minority of the population, and which subsists as a parasitic and exploitative burden upon the rest of society. Since its rule is exploitative and parasitic, the State must purchase the alliance of a group of "Court Intellectuals," whose task is to bamboozle the public into accepting and celebrating the rule of its particular State.

Peroutka Says "No" to Draft; "No" to Foreign Adventures; "Yes" to Freedom and Republic by Michael Peroutka

Michael Peroutka brings the traditional American Right back into the level playing field of Presidential politics by saying No! to King George Bush's War and Coming Draft for Empire.

June 8, 2004

Dear Friends of our Constitutional Republic:

On February 11, 2004, the Selective Service Agency's Director, Lewis Brodsky, issued this statement to the Pentagon:

In line with today's needs, the Selective Service System's structure, programs and activities should be re-engineered toward maintaining a national inventory of American men and, for the first time, women, ages 18 through 34, with an added focus on identifying individuals with critical skills. Seattle Post Intelligencer, May 1, 2004.

Will the draft be reinstated, we do not yet know, but I do know that men, and women (who by nature are not eligible for military service, even if called), are not "inventory" to be held at the disposal of the federal government.

There are many people, from many points of view, who oppose the draft, so I will take this occasion to demonstrate to you why I oppose conscription of men for foreign wars. I am running for President of these United States on the Constitution Party ticket, so I ought to start with the Constitution in demonstrating my opinions.

In Article I, s.8, cc.12, 15, the States gave to the general government's Congress the power "To raise and support Armies" and "To provide for calling forth the Militia to execute the Laws of the Unions, suppress Insurrections and repel invasions." There is a difference between these two powers. A militia was, at the time of the founding, involuntary. They were state citizens "drafted" to protect the State. Such militiamen were mostly kept near home, but were most certainly kept with other militiamen from their area. An army was volunteer, and consisted of citizens of the several states.

Now, whether a draft to the service of the State is sound policy is not my call, Constitutionally, but I can recognize that drafted soldiers would only come under my direction as Chief Executive for three limited purposes: 1. to execute the Laws of the Union; 2. to suppress Insurrections; and 3. to repel Invasions. No where in the Constitution is the Congress given authorization to draft men into foreign service, and thus I may use no such man for that purpose---my oath is to the Constitution, not the Congress.

Don't get me wrong, I am all for a strong American military to help me protect and defend the Constitution and these United States, but I will use our military only for Constitutional aims, namely to repel the invasion at our Southern Border and to execute the constitutional Laws of the Union. I will not, however, violate the Constitution and the Law of God by permitting the use of drafted men to achieve the imperialistic goal of Pax Americana.

As Samuel warned sinful Israel when they begged for a "King ... like all the nations," "This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen." A Godly ruler is not to amass military might to himself, lest he see his forces and itch to use them. See Deut. 17:16. It is not sound Constitutional policy, and it is not Christian, to view people as mere inventory to be expended at the whimsical fancy of the Chief Executive Officer of these United States.

Meet Me in Valley Forge!!

Meet Me In Valley Forge!! by Chuck Baldwin

I would like to devote this column to inviting my readers to join me in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, Thursday-Saturday, June 23-26, for the Constitution Party National Convention. During this convention, Michael Peroutka and I will be nominated as the Party's Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates for this year's election. It would be a huge honor for me to have readers of this column present for this historic occasion.

The setting of this convention, Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, could not be more appropriate. As you know, it was here that General George Washington and his brave but battered men were forced to endure some of the most unimaginable hardships ever recorded in the annals of human history. By any standard, the odds of their success were miniscule. They had to endure the most inclement weather possible, fatigue, frostbite, starvation, and scores of other obstacles.

In spite of awful adversities, General Washington was able to keep his army intact. Had they not survived that awful winter in 1777 at Valley Forge, America would not be a free and independent nation today. Valley Forge, perhaps more than any other, is the symbol of America's resolve in our struggle for freedom.

Now, by the Providence of God, it will be Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, that will once again mark the beginning of another impossible task, another fight against all odds: the battle to restore America to its founding principles. And just as with General Washington and his beleaguered but stouthearted soldiers, it is a battle we fully intend to win!

However, just as in Colonial America some two hundred years ago, we need soldiers to answer the call to battle today. That bell for freedom is ringing in Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, on June 23- 26, 2004. Will you join us?

The accommodations in Valley Forge are exceedingly more comfortable than they were for General Washington's Continental Army. In fact, the accommodations and atmosphere of this convention are nothing short of spectacular! It will be the experience of a lifetime.

Perhaps you have never been to Valley Forge or to the numerous other historic sites nearby such as Gettysburg or the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. Why not take a little vacation and visit these wonderful, historic places? There will be several guided tours to selected historic sites near Valley Forge throughout the week. Activities for children are also planned. In short, everyone in the family will find something special to do.

Let me also point out that you do NOT have to be a member of the Constitution Party to attend this convention. If you are a patriotic American who believes our country is heading in the wrong direction and desperately needs to return to our founding principles, you will feel right at home. Only Party delegates will be able to actually participate in the voting process, of course, but anyone and everyone may attend the meetings.

There are several very special speakers scheduled to appear. You can read about the speakers, schedule of events, location, directions, accommodations, reservations, etc., by going to the Constitution Party web site at http://www.constitutionparty.com.

I believe that this is one of those rare occasions that has the potential to set in motion the forces that can change the course and destiny of a nation. I pray that is exactly what will happen. It would also be great to personally meet many of you who faithfully read these columns.

Please prayerfully consider taking a trip to Valley Forge, Pennsylvania, on June 23-26, 2004. And when you come, be sure to introduce yourself to me. I would love to meet you.
