Politicians always struggle for power and once they are in government they are tenacious in holding on to it. But those who put them there are those who really have the power and exercise it at will, because they own and control the financial resources. These people are commonly known as the bankers, the financiers, the powerbrokers, or if you like, the plutocrats.
